GOUDVINK - Eurasian Bullfinch, Pyrrhula pyrrhula - Finches (Fringillidae)

In Belgium and the Netherlands, fairly common subject bird. The male and the female have a black hood. The male has striking bright reddish-pink belly and cheeks. The female is more unobtrusively colored beige grey. Both have a dark tail, a white tail and wings with striking white wing stripe. Has a short, heavy, thick, black beak. Juvenile as a female but with a grey-brown head, without the black head cap. Sounds - Soft, whistling, not conspicuous.
